So it is um the CCF 00:33.779 --> 00:35.669 degree is an associate of Applied 00:35.680 --> 00:37.402 Science that uses some of that 00:37.402 --> 00:39.290 technical skill to help award an 00:39.299 --> 00:41.466 academic degree . That's what's unique 00:41.466 --> 00:43.466 about it for an airman to get their 00:43.466 --> 00:45.470 CCAF . I think the first thing that 00:45.479 --> 00:47.869 comes to their mind is their promotion 00:47.880 --> 00:50.569 eligibility , right ? So folks think 00:50.580 --> 00:52.636 that it'll help with their E PBS and 00:52.636 --> 00:55.290 that's absolutely true . But outside of 00:55.299 --> 00:57.466 just the military context , it holds a 00:57.466 --> 00:59.132 lot of value for their career 00:59.132 --> 01:02.029 progression later . So for example , 01:02.189 --> 01:04.300 when folks are separating or retiring 01:04.370 --> 01:06.537 and they're applying to certain jobs , 01:06.537 --> 01:08.426 a minimum criteria may be awarded 01:08.426 --> 01:11.360 degree and that CCAF checks that box uh 01:11.370 --> 01:13.592 likewise , they may be finding that the 01:13.592 --> 01:16.080 entrance pay at a job is lower without 01:16.089 --> 01:18.311 an awarded degree and higher with their 01:18.311 --> 01:20.709 CCAF . So it can mean practical like 01:20.720 --> 01:23.129 dollars in their pockets . And then on 01:23.139 --> 01:25.417 top of that , it means transfer credit . 01:25.417 --> 01:27.639 So I encourage everyone to finish their 01:27.639 --> 01:29.639 CCAF because once they finish their 01:29.639 --> 01:32.269 CCAF , they're eligible to kind of 01:32.279 --> 01:34.620 maximize that awarded degree for the 01:34.629 --> 01:36.573 most possible transfer credit with 01:36.573 --> 01:38.796 their bachelor's , which is through the 01:38.796 --> 01:40.907 A U ABC program . So it stands for uh 01:40.907 --> 01:42.819 air University Associates to 01:42.830 --> 01:44.830 Baccalaureate Co Op . And the way I 01:44.830 --> 01:46.830 like to explain it is it's a Cooper 01:46.830 --> 01:48.997 agreement between the CCAF and a bunch 01:48.997 --> 01:51.660 of civilian institutions to make the 01:51.669 --> 01:54.139 most of that CCAF degree . So it's a 01:54.150 --> 01:56.660 transfer agreement . So what happens is 01:56.669 --> 01:58.836 the member can go on a , a the virtual 01:58.836 --> 02:01.002 education center , enter their primary 02:01.002 --> 02:03.669 A FSC and see a nice long list of about 02:03.699 --> 02:06.160 100 to 100 20 degrees at various 02:06.169 --> 02:09.949 institutions that accept their CCF for 02:10.050 --> 02:12.429 full value or close to full value . 02:12.440 --> 02:14.496 Meaning that they can come into that 02:14.496 --> 02:16.551 bachelors with an awarded 60 credits 02:16.551 --> 02:18.662 and needing only another 60 credits . 02:18.662 --> 02:20.718 So it's kind of like a 5050 split to 02:20.718 --> 02:22.773 make the most of that awarded CCAF . 02:23.110 --> 02:25.610 The thing people that uh the thing that 02:25.619 --> 02:27.786 people get the most concerned about is 02:27.786 --> 02:30.729 that they don't like their A FSC , like 02:30.740 --> 02:33.479 I'm not planning to continue to do what 02:33.490 --> 02:35.712 I do in the Air Force when I separate . 02:35.712 --> 02:37.712 So why would I get a degree in that 02:37.712 --> 02:40.729 area ? But um the A U ABC is really 02:40.740 --> 02:44.000 broad . So we see things like folks who 02:44.009 --> 02:47.449 are , for example , in a maintenance or 02:47.460 --> 02:49.910 criminal justice program have 02:49.919 --> 02:52.240 opportunities to do the A U ABC in 02:52.250 --> 02:54.389 areas like information technology , 02:54.399 --> 02:57.740 business management . Uh lots of wide 02:57.750 --> 02:59.889 ranging options outside of just that 02:59.899 --> 03:01.732 little career field that they're 03:01.732 --> 03:04.589 currently in . Yes , that's exactly 03:04.600 --> 03:06.656 what the A U ABC program is designed 03:06.656 --> 03:09.000 for is a transparent transfer agreement 03:09.009 --> 03:11.009 to kind of save you time and effort 03:11.009 --> 03:13.065 investigating . But regardless of if 03:13.065 --> 03:15.065 you do an A U ABC program or if you 03:15.065 --> 03:17.809 just get your CCF awarded , that is a 03:17.940 --> 03:21.399 real degree worth college credit and is 03:21.410 --> 03:24.639 transferable to many institutions . So 03:25.529 --> 03:27.640 one of the benefits of course is here 03:27.640 --> 03:30.190 in the military having that awarded for 03:30.199 --> 03:32.649 military promotions , but outside , it 03:32.660 --> 03:34.550 just opens so many doors for your 03:34.559 --> 03:37.259 civilian career progression . If a 03:37.270 --> 03:40.539 member is planning a full military 03:40.550 --> 03:42.550 career , they're planning a full 20 03:42.550 --> 03:44.661 years and they're like , I should get 03:44.661 --> 03:46.883 my CCF done . Well , first of all , you 03:46.883 --> 03:48.883 ever want to put on senior , you're 03:48.883 --> 03:50.717 going to need to have an awarded 03:50.717 --> 03:52.883 associates degree . So the earlier you 03:52.883 --> 03:52.649 get that done , the faster you progress 03:52.660 --> 03:54.604 through your military career . But 03:54.604 --> 03:56.827 let's say that someone's like I'm going 03:56.827 --> 03:58.882 to do one contract , that's it . And 03:58.882 --> 04:00.882 then I'm out when they're leaving , 04:00.882 --> 04:03.104 they'd be living with an awarded degree 04:03.104 --> 04:05.490 that's gonna help them continue on 04:05.500 --> 04:08.179 their education ideally in a positive 04:08.190 --> 04:10.660 way with that transfer credit . So the 04:49.230 --> 04:52.880 CCF is awarding military college credit 04:52.890 --> 04:55.057 based on the formal training you do at 04:55.057 --> 04:58.540 your tech school uh during BMT doing PM 04:58.549 --> 05:01.309 ES and upgrade training . So all of 05:01.320 --> 05:03.320 those things are giving you college 05:03.320 --> 05:06.660 credit if you were to go 05:06.670 --> 05:09.540 elsewhere to a different school , um 05:09.549 --> 05:11.660 they would not be giving you a ton of 05:11.660 --> 05:13.938 college credit for just doing your job . 05:13.938 --> 05:16.105 So that's what's so cool about the CCF 05:16.105 --> 05:18.105 is that by doing your job , you are 05:18.105 --> 05:17.630 getting a ton of college credit , 05:17.720 --> 05:19.942 making it easier and easier to get your 05:19.942 --> 05:22.459 CCAF degree . The reason why the CCF 05:22.470 --> 05:25.140 degree is tied to your career field is 05:25.149 --> 05:27.309 because they're using and leveraging 05:27.320 --> 05:29.649 that military training to award you so 05:29.660 --> 05:32.529 much of the degree for a lot of people , 05:32.700 --> 05:34.922 they may only need to complete the five 05:34.922 --> 05:37.690 gen ed requirements . That's speech 05:37.779 --> 05:40.029 English , math , social science and 05:40.040 --> 05:42.769 humanities to get their CCAF degree 05:42.779 --> 05:45.079 awarded . And we have a lot of folks 05:45.089 --> 05:47.230 who wait and they don't complete it 05:47.239 --> 05:50.600 right away , who are super close to 05:50.609 --> 05:52.553 being done if they would just take 05:52.553 --> 05:54.619 those five as tests at our National 05:54.630 --> 05:56.686 Test Center here at the Ed Center or 05:56.690 --> 05:59.119 take five college classes funded by T A 05:59.260 --> 06:02.519 completely free . No out of pocket . So 06:02.619 --> 06:04.786 there's a lot of easy ways to get your 06:04.786 --> 06:06.897 CCAF done . They just need to come to 06:06.897 --> 06:09.119 us and get the ball rolling . Yeah . So 06:09.119 --> 06:11.600 for our folks who went through BMT 06:11.609 --> 06:14.720 after 2019 and they receive college 06:14.730 --> 06:17.470 credit just for going to BMT , which is 06:17.480 --> 06:19.313 great . You're starting off with 06:19.313 --> 06:21.536 college credit and then they go to tech 06:21.536 --> 06:23.647 school and depending on the length of 06:23.647 --> 06:25.758 their tech school , they'll receive a 06:25.758 --> 06:27.869 certain amount of CCAF credit . After 06:27.869 --> 06:29.924 tech school , you have to go through 06:29.924 --> 06:32.147 upgrade training to get your five skill 06:32.147 --> 06:31.989 level and that provides another nine 06:32.000 --> 06:34.309 credits towards your CCAF . So for a 06:34.320 --> 06:37.140 lot of people who just went to BMT , 06:37.350 --> 06:39.239 went to tech school and did their 06:39.239 --> 06:41.380 upgrade training and are , you know , 06:41.750 --> 06:43.806 very young in their career , they're 06:43.806 --> 06:45.972 already maybe close to halfway through 06:45.972 --> 06:48.079 their CCAF degree as you continue to 06:48.089 --> 06:50.549 progress and you go to additional FTD 06:50.559 --> 06:54.089 courses or you go to A LS or you get 06:54.100 --> 06:56.290 your seven level , that's just adding 06:56.299 --> 06:58.132 on more and more military credit 06:58.132 --> 07:00.132 leaving with you with the essential 07:00.132 --> 07:02.450 five gen ed courses . So if anyone's 07:02.459 --> 07:04.515 interested on how to get started and 07:04.515 --> 07:06.681 they don't have prior college credit , 07:06.681 --> 07:08.626 those five gen EDS are where you , 07:08.626 --> 07:11.040 we'll get you started . If you do have 07:11.049 --> 07:13.271 prior college credit , then we can make 07:13.271 --> 07:15.327 the most of that by taking a look at 07:15.327 --> 07:17.438 that prior college credit and telling 07:17.438 --> 07:19.382 you exactly what we'll transfer in 07:19.382 --> 07:21.549 versus what you have left to do . It's 07:40.681 --> 07:42.792 essentially their degree plan for the 07:42.792 --> 07:44.903 CCAF . And when they pull that degree 07:44.903 --> 07:44.869 audit , they'll take a peek over it . 07:44.880 --> 07:46.769 Make sure they see all the formal 07:46.769 --> 07:48.936 training . They would expect the BMT , 07:48.936 --> 07:51.213 the tech school , the upgrade training . 07:51.213 --> 07:53.324 If anything's missing , they'd let us 07:53.324 --> 07:55.380 know likewise , they can come in and 07:55.380 --> 07:57.547 receive initial guidance on what their 07:57.547 --> 07:59.658 remaining requirements are . It is one 08:22.602 --> 08:24.713 of the most robust funding programs . 08:24.713 --> 08:26.936 The Air Force has to offer airmen while 08:26.936 --> 08:29.047 they're active duty . So T A is $4500 08:29.047 --> 08:32.090 per fiscal year to be used towards any 08:32.099 --> 08:34.469 CCAF requirements . And your first 08:34.479 --> 08:36.479 civilian associate's Bachelor's and 08:36.479 --> 08:40.330 master's programs that $4500 refunds 08:40.340 --> 08:42.507 everyone October . So if you don't use 08:42.507 --> 08:44.729 it for this year , you have it for next 08:44.729 --> 08:47.070 year come 1 October . And the biggest 08:47.080 --> 08:49.200 shame I think is when folks continue 08:49.210 --> 08:51.432 through their career here and they miss 08:51.432 --> 08:53.619 out on year after year after year of 08:53.630 --> 08:55.797 that funding source and they just wait 08:55.797 --> 08:57.963 until they get out to start working on 08:57.963 --> 08:59.852 their education . There's so much 08:59.852 --> 09:02.074 opportunity while you're active duty to 09:02.074 --> 09:04.619 get your degrees done and um to get 09:04.630 --> 09:06.686 multiple , to get up to four degrees 09:06.686 --> 09:10.010 done , paid by their force . I would 09:10.020 --> 09:13.109 say it is , I think that the dod in 09:13.119 --> 09:16.630 general prioritizes the education of 09:16.640 --> 09:18.807 service members . And so that's why we 09:18.807 --> 09:20.640 have education centers here that 09:20.640 --> 09:22.862 provide education counseling and career 09:22.862 --> 09:25.140 counseling . And that's why we have so 09:25.150 --> 09:27.429 many partnerships with institutions who 09:27.440 --> 09:29.549 accept T A . There's thousands of 09:29.559 --> 09:31.409 institutions that accept T A and 09:31.419 --> 09:33.530 there's many who purposely reduce the 09:33.530 --> 09:35.697 cost of their courses to match the T A 09:35.697 --> 09:37.808 rate so that people have very minimal 09:37.808 --> 09:39.641 out of pocket to get really good 09:39.641 --> 09:41.475 associates , bachelor's master's 09:41.475 --> 09:43.659 degrees , an awarded degree can make a 09:43.669 --> 09:46.520 big difference for your overall career 09:46.530 --> 09:48.489 progression . While you're in the 09:48.500 --> 09:50.778 military , that degree is not required . 09:50.778 --> 09:53.000 But when you leave , there are a lot of 09:53.000 --> 09:55.167 different career fields where a degree 09:55.167 --> 09:58.270 is the entry level requirement . It would be to your 10:08.929 --> 10:10.818 advantage to have that done while 10:10.818 --> 10:12.929 you're still in the service . Uh The 11:00.784 --> 11:02.896 Air Force is amazing in the fact that 11:02.896 --> 11:05.130 you can get your CCF degree awarded as 11:05.140 --> 11:07.307 long as all requirements are completed 11:07.307 --> 11:09.307 before your D OS . But that doesn't 11:09.307 --> 11:11.529 mean we want to wait until your D OS to 11:11.529 --> 11:14.169 do all of them . Um Getting it done 11:14.179 --> 11:16.369 earlier on the more beneficial it is 11:16.380 --> 11:18.491 the more decisions you can make based 11:18.491 --> 11:20.658 on having it awarded . But overall , I 11:20.658 --> 11:22.713 just encourage everyone to get their 11:22.713 --> 11:26.500 CCF done uh and uh to have that in hand 11:26.510 --> 11:28.590 before you exit the military .
