Now , we've all heard the term 00:51.650 --> 00:53.872 before and many of you , no matter what 00:53.872 --> 00:56.039 branch of service that you came from , 00:56.039 --> 00:58.039 we had some core elements from boot 00:58.039 --> 01:00.261 camp , but I wanna dive in a little bit 01:00.261 --> 01:03.279 deeper as we talk about elements of how 01:03.290 --> 01:05.457 to wear the uniform and those who have 01:05.457 --> 01:07.519 come before us and served . But it's 01:07.529 --> 01:10.660 deeper than that discipline is also 01:10.669 --> 01:13.190 rooted in our work ethic , our 01:13.199 --> 01:15.680 character , the things that we do that 01:15.690 --> 01:18.089 strengthen us going back to General 01:18.099 --> 01:19.988 Durham's point of focusing on the 01:19.988 --> 01:21.988 fundamentals . If you wanna build a 01:21.988 --> 01:23.932 house , you have to have the right 01:23.932 --> 01:26.099 foundation . And so as we're preparing 01:26.099 --> 01:28.321 our young airmen to come into our great 01:28.321 --> 01:30.377 Air Force . We have a responsibility 01:30.377 --> 01:32.321 and a charge to ensure that we are 01:32.321 --> 01:35.599 upholding standards at every level . My 01:35.610 --> 01:39.139 second loe is development and so many 01:39.150 --> 01:41.959 of you have taken PM ES or required 01:41.970 --> 01:44.379 courses , but I wanna dig a little bit 01:44.389 --> 01:46.556 deeper . I want you to think about the 01:46.556 --> 01:48.500 soft skill development . How do we 01:48.500 --> 01:50.611 ensure that we're getting to the next 01:50.611 --> 01:52.809 level ? Many of you have mentors 01:52.819 --> 01:55.010 throughout and if you don't , I highly 01:55.019 --> 01:57.186 encourage you to seek out some amazing 01:57.186 --> 01:59.186 mentors . I'm a command chief and I 01:59.186 --> 02:01.075 have eight mentors that I lean on 02:01.075 --> 02:03.408 consistently because I wanna get better . 02:03.480 --> 02:05.959 I think that's important . I wanna 02:54.743 --> 02:57.139 do other things and that's ok . But 02:57.149 --> 02:59.205 what did you do in between while you 02:59.205 --> 03:01.371 had the uniform ? On ? What legacy are 03:01.371 --> 03:04.309 we leaving behind in my office ? I have 03:04.320 --> 03:07.979 a photo that I proudly hang up . About 03:07.990 --> 03:10.910 six years ago . I promoted to Chief 03:10.919 --> 03:12.975 master sergeant and I had a ceremony 03:12.975 --> 03:16.779 like many other chiefs . Now in that 03:16.789 --> 03:18.789 photo , there are several people on 03:18.789 --> 03:21.520 stage . I asked my secondary family for 03:21.529 --> 03:23.696 every member who was present that came 03:23.696 --> 03:26.990 in when I served under 94 services 03:27.000 --> 03:29.360 squadron . I asked them to attack me . 03:30.139 --> 03:32.306 The reason why is because I didn't get 03:32.306 --> 03:35.139 here along . It was the village . It 03:35.149 --> 03:37.339 was every single leader that helped 03:37.350 --> 03:39.850 groom and grow meat as well as several 03:39.860 --> 03:43.320 others that we had in our squadron . I 03:43.330 --> 03:45.497 know we have amazing talent throughout 03:45.497 --> 03:47.219 Fourth Air Force and so we are 03:47.219 --> 03:49.630 dependent upon you together . We can go 03:49.639 --> 03:51.880 far , go forth and conquer .
