We're bringing this 00:17.047 --> 00:19.269 event back for the second year in a row 00:19.269 --> 00:21.547 after over a 20 year break . This year , 00:21.547 --> 00:20.979 we're back at full operational 00:20.989 --> 00:23.850 capability with eight teams , over 300 00:24.010 --> 00:26.170 competitors with more events and more 00:26.180 --> 00:28.069 excitement . Putting on readiness 00:28.069 --> 00:30.236 challenge is a huge lift . It requires 00:30.236 --> 00:32.347 a good partnership between our office 00:32.347 --> 00:34.513 at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center 00:34.513 --> 00:36.569 and especially the work of the first 00:36.569 --> 00:38.402 red horse training squadron . So 00:38.402 --> 00:40.458 there's a few big objectives for the 00:40.458 --> 00:42.624 event and we get great value out of it 00:42.624 --> 00:44.736 in a couple of ways . First is we get 00:44.736 --> 00:47.069 an opportunity to assess unit readiness . 00:47.069 --> 00:49.069 We're bringing units from different 00:49.069 --> 00:51.124 major commands and we're able to see 00:51.124 --> 00:53.124 how they compete and see if we have 00:53.124 --> 00:53.069 training deficiencies or areas we need 00:53.080 --> 00:55.310 to address across the force . The other 00:55.319 --> 00:57.930 is it allows us to build a war fighting 00:57.939 --> 01:00.272 culture and build on our civil engineer , 01:00.272 --> 01:02.161 war fighting ethos . And we think 01:02.161 --> 01:04.383 competition is a great way to do that . 01:04.383 --> 01:06.328 Readiness challenge is an exciting 01:06.328 --> 01:06.800 event .
