With the maintenance that we have going on here, for every hour that you fly in the aircraft there is about two to three hours of maintenance on the backside that needs to be conducted so what that means is that with the crew chiefs that we have and the avionics support that these guys are working non-stop. Always researching, non-stop inspecting components, parts to make sure we have the safest aircraft to fly. They get the least amount of credit and they do a majority of the work here. With out them our mission would be a complete failure.

Delta company is a field-level maintenance aviation company and our 'bread and butter' is scheduled maintenance and the 120 - hour scheduled maintenance that this aircraft is in here for is a prime example. Being able to turn it around quickly gives the battalion commander the freedom to, you know, continue planning operations with this aircraft in the cycle. I really try and get my leadership team in Delta company to focus on customer service and returning a good product back to the flight line. And we really do contribute directly to increasing combat power for the ground commander.

Component repair is really, you know, the bread and butter of the job. They break components, we fix it. We try not to, you know, replace parts unless we absolutely have to. There is a lot of components that can ground a bird so you know, you've got to take a personal, professionalism in the work you do because at the end of the day peoples lives area at stake
