00:00.990 --> 00:02.990
- Hey Marines, today in Gunner's Underground,

00:02.990 --> 00:05.060
I'm going to demonstrate a field fix

00:05.060 --> 00:07.300
for an issue I know most of you have been having.

00:07.300 --> 00:09.650
Recently the Marine Corps went to the PMAG

00:09.650 --> 00:11.190
as the primary magazine.

00:11.190 --> 00:13.080
The new magazines do not fit properly

00:13.080 --> 00:14.250
into the magazine pouch,

00:14.250 --> 00:16.750
causing issues when trying to remove the magazine.

00:21.570 --> 00:26.163
All you need is two magazines, your magazine pouch,

00:26.820 --> 00:30.710
some type of container for water, and some type of a spacer.

00:30.710 --> 00:32.560
What I found works best is two pens,

00:32.560 --> 00:34.290
just because of the size of the pens

00:34.290 --> 00:37.090
and the space that you can get in between the magazines.

00:37.210 --> 00:38.740
So first thing you're gonna do,

00:38.740 --> 00:40.550
is you're gonna take your magazine pouch

00:40.550 --> 00:42.363
and you're gonna dunk it in water.

00:42.930 --> 00:44.923
Once you've soaked your magazine pouch,

00:45.090 --> 00:46.210
you're gonna go ahead and take it out

00:46.210 --> 00:48.383
and insert your two magazines.

00:51.550 --> 00:54.163
The you will take whatever you're using as a spacer,

00:54.230 --> 00:57.503
whether it's a piece of wood or two pens,

00:57.750 --> 01:00.763
and slide it in between the two magazines.

01:02.720 --> 01:03.950
What that does is,

01:03.950 --> 01:07.193
is it stretches the fibers of the magazine pouch.

01:08.110 --> 01:09.393
Go ahead and close it up.

01:09.570 --> 01:11.140
And then you're gonna let your magazine pouch

01:11.140 --> 01:12.440
sit out in the sun to dry.

01:14.480 --> 01:17.630
What we talked about today is just a quick fix

01:17.630 --> 01:19.880
^that can help make you more combat effective.
