NARRATOR:  The 12th Flying Training Wing Maintenance Directorate at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph plays a crucial role in getting aircraft off the ground.  The directorate supports 189 aircraft for six flying training squadrons at JBSA-Randolph and the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida.   The unit has a 24-7 operation with nearly 600 civilian maintainers. They maintain T-1, T-38, and T-6 aircraft that average 38,000 sorties and 50,000 flying hours each year.
