When I got in the Air Force I came in in 1985 and I went to a big enough shop where there was about 35 people in there, 35, 40 people. So, when the boss came down and he would say to you, `Hey who did this?’ you could always go, `Well, it was him.’ These days in the Air Force, it was me. The young men and women that are coming into the Air Force these days really do have responsibility. The weight is on their shoulders.

Working with the trans alert people. You know the young Airmen get off there; they are doing crew chief responsibilities on C-5s and C-17s

My hat goes off to them. I’m greatly appreciative that they do the job they do.

01:01.557 --> 01:10.364
My first career field was Aerospace Ground Equipment. I spent 10 years, 11 years doing that. Then I retrained into Public Affairs and I did that for the next 12, 13 years.

01:12.027 --> 01:36.384
I love working for the Air Force. I just love working for the Air Force. I‘ve done it for so long I really don’t want to go anywhere else or work anywhere else. I know what I’m doing here and I know what is expected of me and I know what people are looking for when they transit through Fairford. You know if they need Aerospace Ground Equipment, I bring it to them. If they need me to wave them in, I wave them in. Whatever they need, I’m here to do.

01:37.111 --> 01:45.168
And I miss it. I miss going on all the deployments and being down in places like Turkey and Germany and all over the world. It’s fantastic.

01:45.899 --> 01:55.772
I just had a great 23 years and I wish I could have stayed longer actually. But, that wasn’t meant to be. Everyone’s got to move on. One day you too will be out of uniform.
